No exaggerated fees

Auto auctioneers, car dealerships and other auto shippers claim that hidden fees, broker ambiguity and outright dishonest brokers are the biggest hurdles in shipping cars. Many Brokers quote a price for shipping your car, take a “deposit” and then attempt to short the carrier so that they can pocket the difference.

This adds unwanted time to the entire process as legitimate carriers are averse to picking up underpriced freight. These pricing practices often attract under insured, under maintained and unsafe carriers to the table as they are willing to accept unreasonably low freight.

We prioritize service

Miscommunication leads to delays when brokers or carriers skip the due diligence process. We arm you with dedicated account managers who prioritize documentation and attention to details on every load to avoid delays, unnecessary phone tag and last minute surprises.

Car shipping 101

The cost to ship your vehicle depends on a few factors such as the distance it will travel, the size of the vehicle and the total weight. Car shipping carriers have weight limitations which dictate the size and weight of cars that they can transport during any given load. 80,000 lbs is the limit. In general trucks and electric cars will be slightly more expensive to ship than a sedan. The best way to determine the cost to ship your car is to contact us for a quote or to get an instant quote here.
Carriers and brokers are two different entities in the auto hauling sector, and they perform different roles in the process. Simply put, carriers are companies that own, maintain and operate their own fleet of trucks. Carriers will use terminology such as “auto transporter”, “auto hauler”, and “auto transport company”.

At Transpicuous Logistics, we are brokers for the auto-transport industry. Brokers for this industry do not own or operate fleets of trucks, but they maintain relationships and do all of the heavy lifting to pair shippers with qualified and trusted carriers in their network.
Shipping your vehicle with the door-to-door method means that logistics will be worked out for your vehicle to be delivered to the address of your choice- directly to your home, if preferred. Door-to-door shipping is usually the most convenient method for shipping cars for our customers.

Terminal-to-terminal delivery means that carriers will load and unload your vehicle at terminal yards. Transpicuous Logistics always confirms the shipping method in the quotes we provide to ship your car. We offer the flexibility for you to choose either terminal-to-terminal and door-to-door shipping based on your needs.

Receiving a quote from Transpicuous Logistics

If you request a quote through this form, we will reply within 24 hours, but always strive to contact you the same day with a car shipping quote. We never provide quotes without having the sufficient information about your shipping needs. Based on years of experience working with hundreds of carriers across the nation, collecting customer information and getting on the same with our customers is always the most important first step.
Here is a list of the variables that could impact the final cost to ship your car. At Transpicuous Logistics, we never hide fees, and are always transparent upfront about the total costs associated with shipping your car.

Terminal storage fees: if you agree to ship your vehicle with carriers who have terminals, there may be additional terminal storage fees that accumulate while your vehicle is kept at the terminal. We help our customers to factor applicable terminal fees into the total cost to avoid surprises.

The weight of your vehicle: in general, trucks and electric vehicles are heavier, which may result in a higher cost to ship. As thousands of carrier trailers are zooming around the nation every day, they are required to not surpass the 80,000 lb weight limit. A reason larger vehicles like trucks or electric cars affect the cost to ship your car is because batteries are heavy and so are trucks! A 10-car trailer that opts to transport heavier vehicles is not actually able to fill all 10 spots on the trailer due to weight limit restrictions.

At Transpicuous Logistics we place the phone calls, complete the research and rely on up-to-the-minute load boards to do all of the due diligence required to transport vehicles in the fastest and safest manner.

The transport distance: distance affects fuel consumption and the shipping time frame, resulting in higher costs.

Last minute shipping: we always tell our customers that the best way to save money on shipping their vehicles is to book the order in advance between 15 to 30 days. Priority pick up and delivery of cars requires precise route planning so it will generally cost more if you wait last minute on priority shipments. Planning ahead 15-30 days gives us plenty of time to organize delivery efficiently which can help lower the final cost.

Open vs. enclosed transport: the open carrier method exposes vehicles to the weather conditions, and enclosed transport adds extra protection by keeping vehicles sheltered while in transit. Enclosed transport is more expensive.
We highly recommend taking pictures of your vehicle prior to shipping to provide you assurance and proof against any damage claims that may take place. Taking pictures is not required, and some carriers may offer this is a service.
Out of service can mean the car does not turn on or it is unsafe to drive due to mechanical failure. We ship out of service vehicles by pairing the shipper and owner with professional carriers who have the equipment and manpower to properly load the vehicle. Always be sure to tell us the condition of the car in the quote form or on the phone. This helps us filter down carriers to the best choice for our customers.
